Free Reign Take Over Devil’s Night Happy Hour

      Friday, February 25th
      7p-10p

This Friday, Free Reign will be hanging out at Idle Hands to play some of their favorite metal and premiere some new music from their second album, “Heavier Than Metal”. Three of the band’s four members are players in the National Football League. Comprised of two Dallas Cowboys (singer Marc Colombo and bassist Leonard Davis) and a Miami Dolphin, (drummer Cory Procter), Free Reign is rounded out by a non-footballer, guitar virtuoso Justin Chapman. The group has already won an award at the Golden Gods Awards for “Most Metal Athletes” and are making believers out of notables including Rob Halford, Vinnie Paul and Zakk Wylde.

The band’s first single, “One Step Away” is available now via Amazon.com and iTunes, and Heavier Than Metal will be available on April 19.

    • Butternuts Dilly Dally

Hang Around, Have Some Beers Or 7

      February 8, 2011

      BUTTERNUTS DILLY DALLY

      • Amber Ale
      • 3.6% ABV
      • Garrattsville, NY

THEY SAY: A New York State Mild Ale. Amber color, aroma of pine and citrus. Upfront hop flavor followed by malt toasted flavor. Hop flavor lingers in the middle with a medium body perception. Finishes light and dry with a hop resin lingering in the mouth.

THEY ALSO SAY: All NY State beer with all ingredients either from the brewery or sourced from 10 miles around it. The brew is a “mini-IPA”. Low ABV, highly seasonable but with a more rigid hop backbone to it. It’s the kind of beer that would make you dilly dally at the bar instead of doing what you should be doing.

REV SAYS: What you should be doing is drinking this tasty sessionable beer and a lot of it. But do it fast, there is a WHOPPING 10 kegs available anywhere near these parts and we got one. Craft beers should be enjoyed for their quality and this one is no different but feel free to enjoy it in quantity.

    • Butternuts – Herr Titt Swiggle

are we the only bar in ny to pour this naughty named beer

      February 3, 2011

      BUTTERNUTS HERR TITT SWIGGLE

      • Amber Ale
      • 0% ABV
      • Garrattsville, NY

THEY SAY: Well…they don’t. Google search it.

REV SAYS: Butternuts made this as a test and sent out a few kegs. We found out about and said “SEND US ONE!” If the name alone isn’t reason to want to put it in your mouth know that their distributors told them the name wouldn’t work. Our invoice said “Amber Ale.” we reached out to the brewery and said “we’re putting it on tap as Herr Titt Swiggle and if you don’t like it, we will buy the rest of the stock. Thankfully they liked it and we bought the rest anyway. Non-malty, smooth drinkin amber ale with a hint of toasted marshmallows. This beer is made for pounding around the camp fire.

That’s a real picture of the tap, that proves it’s real. Picture or didn’t exist rule proved.
